Rubidium deuteroxide is the deuterated analogue of rubidium hydroxide — RbOD, the fully deuterium-substituted strong base — supplied as a solution in deuterium oxide (D2O). It is used where an alkali-metal deuteroxide base is needed without introducing exchangeable protons into an isotopically labeled system.
Rubidium deuteroxide has no reliable mainstream commercial source. BSI produces RbOD to order in the United States at customer-specified concentration and isotopic purity, characterized through our Texas Tech University and CEES relationships.
