Option-License Commercialization
BSI is advancing this technology under an option license and is accepting quote requests and waitlist interest. Availability, lead time, and commercial terms are confirmed for each inquiry.
Erbium Deuteride (ErD2) Supplier
Erbium deuteride is a rare-earth metal deuteride in which deuterium is absorbed into the erbium lattice to form ErD2 (and, at higher loading, ErD3). Its high deuterium density and thermal stability make it a preferred loaded-target material for neutron production and a workhorse matrix for deuterided-metal fusion and LENR research.
BSI is a US supplier of erbium deuteride with multi-kilogram inventory on hand. Material is produced under sealed-environment pressure and flow control and characterized by XRD, SEM, and FTIR. Current availability and commercial terms are confirmed through the quote process under BSI’s option license; fulfilled orders are prepared to DOT requirements and shipped within the United States only.
Applications
What Erbium Deuteride Is Used For
Neutron-Generator Targets
Erbium's high deuterium retention and thermal stability make ErD2 a durable loaded target for sealed-tube neutron generators and deuterium–deuterium neutron sources.
Fusion & LENR Research
A leading matrix for solid-state and lattice-confinement fusion and low-energy nuclear reaction studies — the deuterided-metal approach explored in NASA Glenn (Steinetz et al.) lattice-confinement fusion work.
Hydrogen-Storage Research
As a high-capacity rare-earth hydride/deuteride, erbium deuteride serves as a model system for hydrogen and deuterium storage and thermal-desorption studies.
Questions
Erbium Deuteride FAQ
What is erbium deuteride used for?
ErD2 is used as a loaded target for neutron generators, as a deuterided metal for solid-state / lattice-confinement fusion and LENR research, and as a model material for hydrogen and deuterium storage studies.
Is erbium deuteride available?
BSI maintains multi-kilogram inventory. Current availability, option-license terms, and estimated shipping timing are confirmed through the quote process.
What is the difference between ErD2 and ErD3?
The two differ in deuterium loading. Erbium absorbs deuterium up to roughly a 3:1 ratio; the exact phase supplied is confirmed per order and documented on the certificate of analysis.
Does BSI ship erbium deuteride internationally?
No. BSI sells to US destinations only. Every order requires a US ship-to address and a lawful US end-use confirmation.
